The Gathering Block is designed to serve as a central kitchen food prep station, and provides quick and easy access to and from counters, sinks, refrigerator, and range areas. It is also a great place for gathering around and discussing the events of the day, or what's next on the menu The cutting surface is crafted from 4" thick solid, END GRAIN, Northern Hard Rock Maple. It's as rugged as they come, but simple to maintain as it is treated with a Cream Finish. The John Boos Cream Finish is an allnatural formulation that penetrates deeply into the grain of the wood, leaving a silky wax barrier that locks moisture in. When used regularly, Boos Block Board Cream will replenish the moisture lost from repeated washings, keeping your Butcher Block Kitchen Work Table from drying, bleaching or cracking. Boos Block Board Cream is a special combination of natural unbleached beeswax and food grade mineral oil. Complete with a Solid 4" square legs and lower shelf that are finished in your choice of 13 rustic colors. The included wicker basket drawer is mounted under the top and is accessible from either side and slides out for quick access to stored utensils, recipe ingredients, cookbooks and more.
