ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY A beautiful heavy duty massive end grain butcher block made from 100% reclaimed tropical hardwoods of many species. The wood used is salvaged from demolished buildings and most of it is very old and not commercially available. EACH BLOCK IS UNIQUE Each block is unique with a completely random pattern. Species include famous hardwoods such as Chengal, Giam, Balau, Rengas, Keruntum, Keranji, Meranti, Mengulang, Kempas and others. Because of the unique nature of the wood used, the dimensions and weight of each block will vary slightly. Reclaimed wood has some marks and imperfections that have been carefully repaired without affecting function. END GRAIN IS BETTER End grain is more durable and lasts much longer than parallel grain boards. Knifes cut into the grain, similar to cutting into a brush rather than cutting across the grains and severing it. This preserves not only your board but keeps your knifes sharper for longer as well. ONLY THE BEST MATERIALS ARE USED We exclusively use the best US Made FDA Food Safe approved waterproof adhesive for manufacturing. Each board is finished with Tree & Co Wood Food, a 100% natural beeswax blend that polymerizes into the cracks, cut marks and imperfections of the food to protect it and make it water repellent. The beeswax is sourced from the pristine environment of New Zealand's South Island and the other oils in the blend are safe for food contact items. CARE INSTRUCTIONS oClean after each use with a damp soapy cloth and then dry it. oApply Tree & Co Wood Food (highly recommended) or other good butcher block oils regularly. oNever put it into a dishwasher. oNever leave wet or on a wet surface
